OneLogin – A Winning Submission for the ONC’s Single Sign On Challengeby Applied Informatics
We received news from the folks at Health2.0 that our submission, OneLogin was adjudged the second place winner in the Single Sign on Challenge sponsored by the Office of the National Coordinator of Health! A big shout -out to our development team for bagging this award. This was a technically challenging application to develop – the ONC wanted a soution that could enable users to sign-on to different open source systems using the WebID login protocol. These systems will eventually be used in the Health Data Platform that the ONC is working on and hence the single sign on will be critical in making it easier for users to sign across systems.
Besides the technical challenges, we had limited time to develop. Which meant finding odds hours to work over the Xmas and New Year break, to dig deep into the code bases of the different systems and integrate the WebID authentication process.
And yes, hats off to the other winners – the first place team which consisted of regular Drupal contributors who developed the WebID module within Drupal and the the third place team, Shield.
A video of the application demonstration is included below – yes, you are right, we are “always excited ” to present our applications for such challenges.
